Pet Deposit Assistance for District 10 Residents

This pilot program provides a one-time $300 pet deposit to help renters in Denver City Council District 10 keep their pets while accessing safe, stable housing.

Too many tenants are forced to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome a beloved pet because they can’t afford a pet deposit. This program helps remove that barrier and keep families and their pets together.

The program is a partnership between Councilmember Chris Hinds, the Community Economic Defense Project, Denver Animal Shelter, and local and national animal welfare organizations.

Denver Animal Shelter will provide free spay/neuter and vaccine services to program participants, as needed.

Who Is Eligible?

You may qualify if both of the following apply:

  • You have a pet you are at risk of needing to rehome because you cannot afford a landlord-required pet deposit and

  • You currently live in, or are moving to, Denver City Council District 10

Asistencia para Depósitos de Mascotas para Residentes del Distrito 10

El Programa de Asistencia para Depósitos de Mascotas de Denver es un programa piloto creado para ofrecer una ayuda única de $300 dólares a inquilinos con mascotas que viven en, o se están mudando al, Distrito 10 del Concejo Municipal de Denver y que necesitan apoyo para pagar el depósito por mascota, ya sea para poder acceder a una vivienda o mantener a su compañero animal.

¿Quién califica?

Puedes calificar si:

  • Tienes una mascota que estás en riesgo de tener que reubicar o entregar a un refugio de animales porque no puedes pagar el depósito de mascota requerido por tu arrendador; y
  • Vives actualmente en, o te estás mudando a, el Distrito 10 del Concejo Municipal de Denver.
