The Office of the Clerk and Recorder maintains historical records for the city. Our goal is to be transparent and accessible to the public to ensure the process of searching for historical records is seamless. 

Several databases may require you to sign up for an account to search for the information you're seeking.  

How to Record Documents

Open Records Act 

The Denver Office of the Clerk and Recorder is the custodian of records in our possession. To file a CORA request, fill out the online form


Certified Copies

To obtain certified copies of marriage licenses or other recorded documents, use our self-service Online Records Search and follow the prompts to make a certified copy request.

Certified copies of documents are $1 per document, plus $0.25 per page.
