DOTI has just completed an update to its Denver Moves: Bikes plan, which is the city’s recommended network of safe and slow streets with bikeways. This update combined extensive community input with robust data analysis to develop an updated vision for Denver’s future bicycle network. The Denver Moves: Bikes plan will help guide investments to build more comfortable and connected bikeways and upgrade Denver’s existing bikeways over time. The plan was last updated in 2015.

Also new: DOTI has completed an evaluation of bikeway treatments, gauging their effectiveness in slowing vehicles and reducing vehicle volumes on neighborhood streets, slowing speeds at corners and improving pedestrian crossings. The findings will guide future and new bikeway designs(PDF, 3MB). DOTI is continuing to build out a citywide bike network that gets people where they want to go, including schools and parks, with a focus on installing facilities that are comfortable for riders of all ages and abilities.
