This map includes criminal offenses in the City and County of Denver for the previous 6 months. The data is based on the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) which includes all victims of person crimes and all crimes within an incident. The data is dynamic, which allows for additions, deletions and/or modifications at any time, resulting in more accurate information in the database. Due to continuous data entry, the number of records in subsequent extractions are subject to change. Crime data is updated Monday through Friday. The following dashboard allows you to explore reported crime data in Denver. Data is based on the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS), which includes all victims of person crimes and all crimes within an incident. There are four views, Year-to-Date Totals, Last 28 Days Totals, Last 180 Days Total, and Complete Past Years, which you can toggle between using buttons below the ‘Crime in Denver | Summary of Reported Crime’ header. The NIBRS Crime Definitions button will take you to the data dictionary explaining which crimes make up each crime category. You can select the Neighborhood or Police District of interest using the dropdown arrows and the tables will adjust accordingly. To clear Neighborhood or District selection, simply hover over the Neighborhood and Police District boxes and click the eraser icon that appears. The data is updated daily (Mon-Fri), however there is a two day lag due to sheer volume of reports and data processing. The following dashboard allows you to explore reported thefts in Denver pertaining to catalytic converter, bicycle theft, and package theft. The navigation arrows at the bottom of dashboard will allow you to toggle between these theft crime types. Data is year-to-date and updated daily- please refer to the Date Last Updated in the top right corner to see the most recent data included. You can select the Police District of interest using the dropdown arrows and the tables will adjust accordingly. To clear the District selection, simply hover over the Police District box and click the eraser icon that appears. The Denver Police Department’s Neighborhood Safety Plans is a community engagement initiative that utilizes data on community perceptions of public safety collected through the Denver Public Safety Survey, October 22 through December 8, 2023, to inform priorities and strategies in Denver’s 78 neighborhoods neighborhoods. The Denver Police Department uses Flock Safety technology to capture objective evidence without compromising on individual privacy. The Denver Police Department utilizes retroactive searches to solve crimes after they've occurred. Additionally, the Denver Police Department utilizes real time alerting of hotlist vehicles to capture wanted criminals and to recover stolen vehicles. In an effort to ensure proper usage and guardrails are in place, the Denver Police Department has made the below policies and usage statistics available to the public.
