Navigating the costs of medications, especially for HIV, can be really expensive. Below are links to assistance programs and partner pharmacies with a deep understanding of HIV, working with you to make your medications more affordable and easier to manage.

State Drug Assistance Program

The Colorado State Drug Assistance Program (SDAP) helps people living with HIV in Colorado access medications and get support for insurance costs. To qualify, you need to be a Colorado resident living with HIV and have an income at or below 500% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The program can assist with Medicaid applications and offers help with private insurance. Renewal is required each year to keep receiving benefits.

Pharmacies

Click the buttons below to find pharmacies in the Denver Transitional Grant Area (TGA) counties that specialize in HIV meds, work with the State Drug Assistance Program (SDAP) and may offer mail-order services to send medications directly to your home. Click the “Colorado” button to search pharmacies statewide and narrow results by city or zip code (not just by county).

Additional Resources

There are other ways to get your HIV meds paid for, which can include Patient Assistance Programs (or PAPs) and Co-Payment Assistance Programs (or CAPs) both of which can offer free or reduced cost help with your medications, for those who qualify.

Visit the NASTAD website for more information.

The Colorado Take Meds Seriously website provides information about the safe use, storage, and disposal of prescription in English and Spanish.

The Take Meds Back program helps provide secure collection boxes around the state so you can safely dispose of old medications.
