Treecycle

Due to inclement weather, Treecycle will be canceled for Saturday, January 18. The Central Platte Campus location (1271 W. Bayaud Ave. next to the Denver Animal Shelter) will remain open.

 

Return the joy your tree brings you over the holiday season by giving it a new lease on life. Recycle your holiday tree by dropping it off at one of our collection sites! We’ll turn it into mulch made available to residents in the spring!   

If you don't want to recycle your holiday tree (although we highly encourage it), we'll collect it on your large item pickup day. Trees left out for large item pickup will not be turned into mulch.

2024 - 2025 Treecycle Collection:
December 26th – January 31st

How it works:

Step 1.REMOVE: PLASTIC WRAP OR TIES, TWINE, DECORATIONS, AND STANDS

 

Step 2.Bring your tree to one of our locations below:

WEEKDAY DROP SITES: OPEN FROM 8:00 - 2:00  

  • Cherry Creek Transfer Station – 7301 E. Jewell Ave. (enter on E. Jewell Ave.)
  •  Havana Nursery – 10450 Smith Rd. (enter on Smith Road)
  • Central Platte Campus – 1271 W. Bayaud Ave. (next to the Denver Animal Shelter)

Note: These locations will be closed for holiday observance: Wednesday, January 1st  and Monday, January 20th.

SATURDAY DROPSITES: OPEN FROM 8:00 - 2:00

January 4th - Limited Sites

  • Sloan’s Lake Park (Northwest Parking Lot) - W. Byron Pl. and Yates St.
  • Fred Thomas Park - 2400 Quebec St.
  • Evie Dennis School Campus - 4800 Telluride St.
  • John F. Kennedy High School - 2855 S. Lamar St.
  • Central Platte Campus - 1271 W. Bayaud Ave.  EXTENDED HOURS UNTIL 4:00 p.m.

 

January 11th - All Sites

  • Sloan’s Lake Park (Northwest Parking Lot) - W. Byron Pl. and Yates St.
  • Bruce Randolph School - 3955 Steele St.
  • Fred Thomas Park - 2400 Quebec St.
  • Evie Dennis School Campus - 4800 Telluride St.
  • Central Platte Campus - 1271 W. Bayaud Ave.  EXTENDED HOURS UNTIL 4:00 p.m.
  • Cherry Creek Transfer Station - 7301 E. Jewell Ave.
  • Havana Nursery - 10450 Smith Rd.
  • Carson Elementary - 5420 E 1st Ave.
  • John F. Kennedy High School - 2855 S. Lamar St.
  • Congress Park - E. 9th and Josephine St.
  • University Park Elementary - 2300 S. Saint Paul St.

 

Step 3.Pick up free mulch made from your tree at the annual Mulch Giveaway & Compost Sale in early May.
